P2-F-Learners choose one media product is produced by the insitution they have investigated and analyse it

P2-F- Meaning-

The new Star Wars-The Force Awakens, is much more than one of the biggest blockbusters of all time its real meaning is that it is the first chapter in a brand new trilogy. The films meaning was to catch us up on 30 years of what has happened.

Kylo Ren is Darth Vader’s grandson which is an obvious reason on how JJ Abrams is bringing back the old characters in a type of way that will remind fans of them. It isn’t a coindence that they are similar and JJ Abrams says that Kylo Ren is desperate to live up to his grandfather’s legacy.  In addition, their costumes and the fact they both use red lightsabers and their dark ora link these two characters’ similarities together.
https://ewedit.files.wordpress.com/2015/12/star-wars-01_0.jpg?w=612&h=380&crop=1The costumes used within Star Wars; The Force Awakens have lots of hidden meanings while also relating back to the original trilogy. The new character in the film Rey a female character's costumes throughout the film were given 'femininity' JJ Abrams said but also being able to sustain the settings within the film such as the desert. He also quoted "We eventually gave her a wrap, which could protect her face against dust storms. Everything is there for a reason, but it gives her a very beautiful image when all the pieces are put together. Rey wears the costume throughout the film". ( http://uk.ign.com/articles/2016/04/05/star-wars-the-force-awakens-costumes-comparison-from-concept-art-to-movie). The hidden meaning was that they wanted Rey to look mysterious while looking beautiful.
Finn, as a stormtrooper wore a leather jacket when not wearing his stormtrooper outfit, this was to give him character and depth. In the original trilogy they would wear the original white stormtrooper outfits, but JJ Abrams did not want this similarity to be shared in the Force Awakens.
While commenting on the creation and meaning of the First order and resistance, Abrams said one is made of 'earth tones' representing warmth but the First Order is extremely hard-edged with steel colors such as grey, teal and black. These two places represent contrast.
The use of props such as the famous lightsabers from the original films have evolved into Kylo Ren's fire breathing crossguard weapon, which gives it a more dramatic meaning. Stormtrooper helmets, firearms and lightsabers are used within Force Awakens and also in the original films.

To create a dramatic element among the music, John Williams, who was in charge of composing the films music had a 90 piece orchestra create 175 minutes of music. John Williams said he would ensure themes from the previous films would be in the Force Awakens, such as ones for Luke Leia and Han.
